Overview

Mount Everest – the highest mountain in the world, is a major identifying factor and the most lucrative tourist attraction of Nepal. People from all over the world come to Nepal, in an  attempt to climb the highest mountain in the world. On rare occasions they are unable to climb the mountain, everyone who embarked on the journey – at least gets a front row seat in witnessing the mighty Everest – up close and personal. Mount Everest is located in the North- Eastern part of Nepal bordering China. Mount Everest is  colloquially known as  “Sagarmatha” in Nepali, and ‘Chomolungma’ in Tibetan language respectively. Climbing Mount Everest is a major feat and is attempted by many people every year. Unfortunately not everyone who attempts the climb is able to reach the summit of the mountain. This in part is due to a variety of external factors such as: bad weather, physical or medical condition. We, at Legend of Himalaya, with our competent guides and porters boast a high success rate of getting our clients to the mighty mountain so that you will be able to experience the once in a lifetime opportunity.

The Mount Everest expedition trip provided by Legend of Himalaya, lets you enjoy trekking in one of the most popular and sought after regions in the world – the solukhumbu district within Nepal – where Mount Everest is located. The expedition trips offer you all the thrill and excitement that you would expect from an expedition trip to the tallest mountain in the world. As a general precaution, people often opt to climb mountains such as Cho Oyu and Barun as practice runs before they embark on climbing  Mount Everest.

Mount Everest was first ascended by Sir Edmund Hillay along with his guide Tenzing Norgay Sherpa  on 29th May 1953. After the successful attempt to scale the highest mountain in the world, led to a surge in the number of climbers attempting to climb Mount Everest every year. Mountain Expeditions have become a major source of income in Nepal and is a huge business now.
